From Project to Program

This project was developed, installed and financed collectively with our 799 9th St. NW project. The solar arrays are both interconnected into New Partners’ Community Renewable Energy Facility (CREF), which was key to establishing our comprehensive community solar program. Located across the street from our initial project, it includes solar panels atop the building’s utility penthouse and a south-facing vertical array.

We were always interested in solar technology but the paybacks were very long. By donating rooftop space in this partnership, we are able to be part of advancing the technology so that it would become more affordable and commonplace in the future.
