Partnering With Our Local Utility

While Pepco has been New Partners’ utility partner throughout the development and operation of our solar program, our partnership deepened when Pepco reached out to New Partners to design and co-develop a Community Solar program for Edison Place, Pepco’s headquarters facility in downtown, Washington, DC. The large array was installed by New Columbia Solar as part of its substantial Solar for All portfolio. Pepco’s solar array directly benefits limited-income residents of Jubilee Housing, a nonprofit affordable housing sponsor operating in the District’s Adams Morgan neighborhood. The installation team included low-income job trainees and graduates from WDC Solar, a Ward 8 based community-focused solar job training company. The project is designed to cover 50 Percent of Jubilee residents’ estimated monthly electric bills.
